                                                               Linus Ananda O'Connell

Linus was born on November 3, 2013 in Tazewell, Virginia during a total solar eclipse. I became aware of his existence three days later in response to a dream I had and on December 22, 2013 Linus came home to live with me. In addition to being a beloved pet and companion, Linus is now a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International. I recognize that having the gift of Linus in my life  will allow me to grow and expand, both personally and professionally, in ways that I have yet to fully recognize or comprehend. I am incredibly excited about the adventures that have yet to unfold for us and everyone else who will have the opportunity to connect with this sweet and soulful entity during the coming years!

Miriam Fields-Babineau is the owner and trainer at Shady Mountain Pet Retreat located in Amherst, VA. Whether you choose to just board or 'board and train' your feline or canine companion; they are in excellent hands with Miriam. With degrees in psychology and zoology, she has authored 42 books about dog breeding, care, and training as well as provided animals of all species for feature films, television programs, commercials, and advertisements since 1983. Ms. Fields-Babineau's instant understanding of all animals she meets helps her when teaching their humans to clearly communicate with them. During their visit at Shady Mountain Pet Retreat she opens a path for the dogs to learn human words and visual cues, then passes this language on to the dogs' owners. Dogs who stay at Shady Mountain Pet Retreat become healthier, happier and learn how to perform desired behaviors while extinguishing undesirable behaviors. In other words, they become easier to live with and more fun to have around!
